Second-Degree Forcible Rape

On June 18, 2022, at 5 p.m., officers from the Goldsboro Police Department “B shift responded to Wayne UNC Health Care for a report of a sexual assault. The victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted in the 1000 block of E. Elm Street.

On June 18, after further investigation by the Goldsboro Police Criminal Investigations Division, a suspect was developed and warrants were secured on 34 year old Miguel Phillips of Goldsboro for second-degree forcible rape, and first-degree kidnapping.

At 8:45 p.m., Mr. Phillips was arrested in the 500 block of S. Slocumb Street by officers with the Goldsboro Police Department Housing Unit and “D” shift patrol. Mr. Phillips was served on the outstanding warrant and confined to the Wayne County Jail under a $150,000 secure bond. His first appearance is scheduled for June 20.
