Free or reduced meals are available for children in school during the academic year. Now that summer is here that is not an option. However there are various meal programs in Wayne County, and across the state, that provide free food for children during the summer months.

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction has set up a website that shows where the meals sites are located. Click here to see the Wayne County sites.

All children and teenagers under 18 will be served. They do not need to be enrolled in their public school system to participate. The different locations offer various meals — breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner or a combination.
