For decades when a new record came out, everyone in Goldsboro knew that Stan da Man, aka Stanley Hartley, would have it at The Record Rack on North Center Street. From 1984 to 2008 the latest 45’s, LP’s, cassettes, and yes even 8-tracks were all lined up for shoppers to flip through.
How we listen to music has changed over the years, and so has The Record Rack. It has now become the new home for the Downtown Goldsboro Development Corporation (DGDC). Tuesday the doors opened to a newly remodeled property. Not only does DGDC call The Record Rack it’s new home, but the second floor has been turned into an Air BNB available for rent.
