Tony Futrelle, 66, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 12, 2022. Born in Wayne County on November 22, 1955, he was son to the late James Futrelle and Annie Rose Smith.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at 127 Falcon Drive, Pikeville, NC 27863. In honor of Tony, a diehard Tarheels fan, we are asking visitors to wear either Carolina Tarheel shirts or Carolina blue colors. At his request, no formal services will be held.

Tony is survived by his wife, Patsy Edmundson Futrelle; daughters, Heather Futrelle and Kristy Knotts; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry Futrelle and wife, Debbie of Texas, and his sister, Darlene Holland and husband, Ronnie of Goldsboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, T.J. Futrelle Jr.
