Billy Ray Sauls, 59, passed away at his home on Monday, October 10, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Wayne County, Billy was the son of the late James Russell Sauls and Effie Pate Sauls.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his siblings, Rusty Sauls and Diane Tyndall.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Delbra Mooring Sauls; daughter, Hannah Sauls; special niece, Myiah Gross; and siblings, Danny Sauls, Sue Proctor, and Polly Effler.

Those who knew Billy knew his love for being outdoors. Billy could oftentimes be found down by the water with his fishing pole in hand. Each cast brought a special excitement and joy to Billy’s life. When Billy was not fishing, he could be found working in the yard, especially on the lawnmower. Billy will always be remembered for having a well-manicured lawn that he took pride in mowing.

Faith and hope in Jesus Christ were of the utmost importance in Billy’s life. Billy was a member as well as a deacon at Church Alive Ministries. It was evident in Billy’s life, that through his sickness, Billy kept his strong faith in Jesus. We can take comfort in knowing that Billy has been healed and is walking in eternity with Jesus.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 5 P.M. at Church Alive Ministries. The family will receive friends following the service.
