On Dec. 3, 2022, at approximately 3:36 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department received several ShotSpotter alerts notifying them of active gunfire in the 300 block of Beech St. Several 911 calls were also received. Officers responded to the area and located a large crime scene with multiple vehicles and residences damaged by gunfire.

A short time after arriving on scene, officers were notified of two people who arrived at UNC Health Wayne suffering from gunshot wounds. Mikell Wright was transported to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for treatment. Andrea Broadie was treated and released from UNC Health Wayne. The injuries to both victims were considered non-life threatening. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene. This investigation is still developing.
