Randy Carlis McLamb, 62, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at UNC Johnston Health Care in Smithfield. Randy was born in Wayne County to the late Carlis and Annie Ruth McLamb on May 13, 1960.

Randy was first and foremost a family man. His wife and partner in this adventure of life, Jackie, and his two sons, were his world. Then, Randy had the great joy of his grandchildren and found out that there was nothing like being a Grandpa.

For over 40 years, Randy drove an 18-wheeler. He spent more hours on the road than can be counted but made sure to be home every night. When he wasn’t out driving to provide for his family, he found peace in the great outdoors. Fishing at the beach and the Outer Banks were always a treat. He was also a member of the Big Buck Hunting Club. He loved to connect with nature.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Randy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jackie McLamb; sons, James Connor McLamb and Dillon Carlis McLamb and wife, Samantha; grandchildren, Sawyer, Dawsyn, and Sutton; mother-in-law, Edna Baker; sister-in-law, Carolyn McLamb; nephew, Terry McLamb and his son, Zack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry “Skippy” McLamb.
