A four car accident late Thursday afternoon block an intersection in Wayne County Firefighters from Mount Olive Fire Department along with an EMS unit were dispatched to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Indian Springs Road and Stanley Chapel Church Road.
As fire and EMS arrived they found the intersection blocked by several vehicles. There were no serious injuries reported, however several patients were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Firefighters set up a traffic detour around the crash site. During the crash the red vehicle smashed into a utility pole and breaking the pole, duke power was called to the scene. The accident is being investigated by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
