On February 17, 2023, at approximately 8:24 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to several alerts from the ShotSpotter system in the 1100 block of Olivia Lane. Prior to arrival of officers, a 911 call was made advising that a male subject had been shot. When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Responding officers secured the crime scene and contacted the Investigative Services Bureau. Investigators and Crime Scene Specialists responded and assumed control of the investigation. The investigation is still developing at this time.
