Two suspects have been arrested after breaking and entering a local business. According to the police report, on February 19, 2023, at approximately 9:30 a.m., A-Shift officers responded to a report of a breaking and entering that just occurred at 128 E. Walnut St. Witnesses advised two suspects broke the window on the door at Best Beauty Care, entered, and removed an item. The suspects then fled the area. The witnesses were able to provide a suspect description and the suspects were located in the 200 block of N. Center Street by responding officers.

Upon further investigation, it was found that a blunt object was used to break the window and enter the business. A cash box containing petty cash was taken from the business. The cash box and currency it contained was later recovered.

The suspects were identified as 28-year-old Jaqwan Ernesto Atkinson and 18-year-old Miracle Shaunt’e Rich and were arrested. They are charged with one count each of Breaking & Entering (F) and Larceny after B&E (F). They were held in the Wayne County Detention Center on a $5,000 secure bond.
