Goldsboro Police have identified the victim in Tuesday’s shooting death as 30-year-old Stephanie Lynette Smith of Goldsboro.  Smith was transported to UNC Heath Lenoir with a gunshot wound and was declared deceased.

A witness told authorities that the shooting occurred in the 3100 block of Cashwell Drive.  Goldsboro Police began the investigation into the death of Ms. Smith.  In the course of the investigation, 23-year-old Johnique Nicolie Richards was developed as a suspect.  A warrant for Murder and Attempted Robbery was secured on Richards. 

On Tuesday afternoon, Richards was taken into custody in Goldsboro and transported to the Wayne County Magistrates Office.  Richards was jailed with no bond.
