James Hubert (“Jim” “Jimmy”) Coleman, Jr. age 82, passed away Tuesday morning at Wayne/UNC Health Care. Born in Wake County, NC, he was the son of the late James Hubert Coleman, Sr., and Margie Macon Coleman. A member of Emmaus Baptist Church, he was a Veteran of the United States Navy.
Funeral Services to celebrate Jim’s life will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Emmaus Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Willoughby and Rev. Steve Holder officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Jim is survived by his son, James “Richard” Coleman; his daughter, Michelle Lynn Montgomery & husband, Tom; son-in-law, Chris Stancil; his sister, Lynette Ostrowski & husband, Robbie; sister-in-law, Chris W. Coleman; grandchildren, Ashley Paige Coleman, James Austin Coleman (Kayla) and Abigail Haley Ruth Montgomery; step-grandchildren, Chelsea M. Crook (James), Lindsey M. Daniel (E.J.) and Dylan T. Montgomery (Madeline); step-great-grandchildren, Kameron, Maddie, Clayton, Charlie, Cora, and Easton; Nephews, Bobby & Bryce.
Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Meredith Stancil; his brother, Joseph Edward “Eddie” Coleman; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Coleman.
