Wayne County Post 11 ran away with a win against the Kinston Post 43, and they made it look easy while doing it. Post 11 managed to get 5 RBIs to Post 43 1 RBI to beat them 9-2.
To start the scoring off in the bottom of the 1st Wyatt Lassiter hit a pop fly to left field to get caught out but Lane McLean was able to score off Wyatt’s hit bringing Post 11 lead to 1-0. Post 43 came back and answered to get their only RBI of the game in the top of the 2nd to even the score 1-1.
When Post 11 was playing carelessly in that inning, the coach called a timeout and calmly strolled over to the pitcher’s mound to address the infielders. They locked in for the rest of the game after Post 11’s switch flipped during that huddle.
Mason Moffett and Nate Smith of Post 11 each got an RBI in the bottom of the third and fifth innings to help the team go on an amazing hitting spree that increased their advantage to 6-1.
In the bottom of the 6th, you see that the Post 43 heads were not in the game from Post 11 getting a run off of a walked pitch, Post 43 were just standing around after the pitcher Alex Ferrell and Colin Woolard saw that, with his amazing IQ and awareness he steals home making it 7-1. Off Colin’s steal, Cameron Dearing and Alex both stole third and second. Cameron a couple of pitches later steals home off a wild pitch then Wyatt comes up to hit the last RBI for Post 11 to make their lead 9-1. Post 43 scores off a wild pitch in the top of the 7th to make it 9-2 but the damage has already been done.
