Nelson Louis Creech

June 10, 2023, 84, Snow Hill –

Nelson Louis Creech, 84, of Snow Hill went to his heavenly home while surrounded by his family. Nelson loved his Lord, family, and friends. He set an example for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that will go with them all their lives.

Nelson was born in Greene County on January 15, 1939, to the late William Franklin Creech and Maggie Hinnant Creech. He was raised on a farm and continued the tradition when he married the love of his life, Carol Faircloth Creech, which preceded him in death on February 13, 2015. He enjoyed traveling in his camper, antique shopping, restoring old tractors, and listening to bluegrass music.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William Titus Creech, Claude Creech, James Creech, Carl Creech, and Frank Creech; and sisters, Joan Floyd, Edna Maraijko, Hazel Stallings, and Barbara Jean Pate.

Nelson’s most important role in life was being a great father, granddaddy, and great-granddaddy. He was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon for 33 years, and trustee member. Nelson also served on the FSA committee for 28 years. He loved the time spent with his family. Nelson is in heaven at rest now in the arms of God.
