Officers with Goldsboro Police Department’s VICE Unit conducted a traffic stop on June 12, 2023, at approximately 10 a.m., in the 700 block of West Grantham Street due to a seat belt violation. Upon conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle, a concealed firearm was discovered. The driver, Jeremiah Montgomery, 25 of Dudley was promptly arrested on the scene without incident.
Montgomery has a history of felonious convictions, including Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling (F), Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F), and six counts of Breaking or Entering a Motor Vehicle (F). As a result of these convictions, Montgomery is prohibited from possessing firearms. Additionally, Montgomery is a validated member of the Bloods gang through the Department of Corrections.
Following his arrest, Montgomery was transported to the magistrate’s office, where he was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (F) and Carrying a Concealed Gun (M). He was subsequently held at the Wayne County Jail on a $15,000 secured bond.
