Beverly Hensley Weaver, 84, peacefully departed this life and joyously entered her eternal reward on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. She was born in Yancey County to the late Bacchus Selwyn Hensley and Clela Ball Hensley on December 5, 1938. In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James Lawrence Weaver; brother, Bacchus Selwyn Hensley; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Dorothy Weaver, Glenn and Hilda Weaver, Donald and Joyce Weaver, Hugh and Hazel Ballard, Anita Weaver, and Ellie Weaver.

After completing her education degree, Beverly became a beloved teacher with Wayne County Schools where she devoted her life to children for 32 years. She is still remembered by many for teaching her students many life skills.

A longtime member of Jordan’s Chapel Baptist Church, Beverly faithfully served her Lord in the ministries of the church. She looked forward to every church service where she could offer praise to the Lord and connect with her church family.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, in Wayne Memorial Park with Michael Sykes presiding. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Beverly is survived by her sister, Barbara Jane Hensley of Burnsville; brother, Robert Steven Hensley and wife, Anita of Candler; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jackie Hensley; Russell Weaver, Carl Weaver and wife, Faye, Roy Weaver, Charles Weaver and wife, Annette, and Doris Weaver; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
