John David Belvan, 45, was called to his eternal home on Friday, June 16, 2023. John was born in Athens, Georgia on August 4, 1977. The gracious welcome home he received was without a doubt started by his Lord and followed quickly with an embrace from his parents, William Belvan, Jr. and S. Ruth Adams Harper.

John was a valued employee of the Char-Grill Restaurant where he served as assistant manager. Over the years, customers and coworkers became friends and were treated as family.

While John’s genuine love for his friends was enormous, it paled in comparison to his love for his family. One can’t think of John without his wife, Blanca, and his son Alex coming to mind. For John, Blanca and Alex were his whole world and biggest blessings. His most prized roles in life were husband to Blanca and dad to Alex.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1000 11th Street, Goldsboro. Interment will be in the Thomas Ruffin Aycock Cemetery in the Nahunta Community.

John is survived by his wife, Blanca Flor Belvan; son, Alexander Belvan; sister, Angela Belvan; brothers, Adam Belvan (Becky), Andrew Belvan, and Joseph Harper (Arielle); and six nephews, Mitchel, Casey, Paul, Hyrum, Lucas, and Jasper.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
