Walmart in Mount Olive welcomed guests on Friday to a celebratory ribbon-cutting and community event to see the newly renovated store that includes innovations and improvements.

There was also a balloon release to honor Eric Cortes, former Mount Olive Walmart manager, who passed away in April 2023 of this year.

Also in attendance were Mount Olive Mayor Kenny Talton, Tommy Brown, Former Chief of Police, Mount Olive Police Department,

Representatives from the Mount Olive Chamber of Commerce, All the King’s Children Foundation, Men of FIC and Aklebulan Community Reform.

The store also awarded grants to Men of FIC for $1,000, Alkebulan Community Reform for $1,000, and All the Kings Children for $1,000. 

Outside the store were food trucks, bouncy houses, and on-air personality KayTee from 92.7 Jamz was also on location.
