Ricky Briley Wolfe

Ricky Briley Wolfe

August 11, 2023, 68, Goldsboro —

Ricky Briley Wolfe, 68, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 11, 2023, at his home. Ricky was born in Wayne County, one of twelve children, to the late Richard Floyd Wolfe and Cora Mae Lancaster Wolfe on February 25, 1955. In addition to his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Brian Smith.

Working as a mechanic all of his life, Ricky was accomplished in his profession and had a great eye for detail. This skill went beyond his work, as his garden and yard displayed equal perfection. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, no matter the task at hand.

He had a love of antique tractors and enjoyed restoring and showing them. He was a master of many trades, a genuine mechanical genius who enjoyed spending time in his shop. He was a generous person who enjoyed many friendships and treasured them all.

Ricky also had a great love for his family. One can’t think of Ricky without his wife, Marilyn, coming to mind. He was the best husband to Marilyn, happily together for almost 50 years, partners in life, and the best of friends. The addition of their children completed their family but when he became a granddaddy his whole world became complete and they were his biggest blessings.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the Wolfe Family Cemetery located on the family farm. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Marilyn Cox Wolfe; son, Bryan Wolfe (Lauren); daughter, Heather Smith (Josh Kirby); grandchildren, Briley Dawson Smith, Lynnsey Ann Wolfe, and Arlee Kirby; mother-in-law, Ila Cox; three sisters; one brother; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.

Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
