On Aug. 16 at approximately 8:28 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a traffic crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of N. Berkeley Boulevard and Caudill Avenue.

Upon arriving on the scene, officers discovered that a 64-year-old male, Willie Hugh Harvey, had been crossing Berkeley Boulevard on foot when he was struck by a black 2011 Mercedes SUV driven by a 38-year-old male traveling southbound on Berkeley Boulevard.

Harvey was subsequently struck by a 2020 International 18-wheeler driven by a 35-year-old male, who was also traveling southbound.

The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS personnel. The crash investigation is still ongoing.
