Wayne Community College will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, due to Tropical Storm Idalia bringing heavy rain and winds to the area.

A message on the Wayne Community College website read, “Wayne Community College will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31, due to the effects of Hurricane Idalia.” “Classes and all normal operations scheduled for 10 a.m. and later will occur normally. Please exercise caution and make decisions based on your personal situation to ensure safety.”

Wayne Christian School, Wayne Country Day, Wayne Preparatory Academy, and Wayne Stem Academy are all closed on Thursday.
