As Hurricane Idalia continues to approach North Carolina, Wayne County Public Schools has canceled classes for Thursday.
Wayne County Public Schools issued the following statement, “Due to the threat of heavy rains, isolated flooding, and tropical storm winds being forecast for our area, Wayne County Public Schools will be closed for all students and staff, tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 31.” “The school district is closely monitoring the weather forecasts for our area and will remain in close communications with local emergency management officials throughout this weather event.
