SEVEN SPRINGS – Wayne County Public Schools has announced that Spring Creek Elementary School will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 6, due to mechanical issues with the air conditioning system at the school.

Wayne County Public Schools issued the following statement, “This message is for Spring Creek Elementary parents.” “We want to inform you that school will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 6, due to mechanical issues with the air conditioning system impacting much of the building coupled with a triple-digit heat index forecast expected to impact the interior temperatures of classrooms. The health and safety of our students are paramount. We have maintenance crews working to repair the units and hope to have the building and the classrooms cooling properly by the end of the day tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience that this causes. We look forward to seeing all of our students back in class on Thursday.”
