Wayne County foes Southern Wayne and Rosewood met in football for the first time on Friday night at Branch Pope Field.
The Eagles defeated the Saints 30-12, and earned first-year head coach Josh Smith his first victory.

Southern Wayne (2-1) begins 3-A Quad County Conference play when hosts East Wake next Friday.
