Anna Wadsworth Nasekos, 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Anna was born in Wayne County to the late William Atlas Wadsworth and Bessie Baker Wadsworth on September 10, 1936. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, two husbands, and three sisters.
After a long and fruitful career, Anna retired from O’Berry Center. With a servant’s heart, Anna went on to work as a caregiver for the elderly, as well as working in the cafeterias of North East Elementary and Charles B. Aycock High School.
Of utmost importance to her was Anna’s family. Whether sharing a meal, making a phone call, or sitting down for a good conversation, Anna’s most treasured times were spent with her loved ones close in hand and heart.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Anna’s life will follow the visitation at 2:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, which would have been her 87th birthday.
Anna is survived by her special friend and companion, Fred Watson; daughter, Donna F. Edmundson, and husband, Jimmie of Goldsboro; sons, Ronnie Lee Fortner and wife, Wanda of Pikeville, Donald Ray Fortner and wife, Sherri of Pikeville and Bobby Nasekos and wife, Jean of Rock Hill, SC; step-sons, Paul Nasekos and wife, Jeanette of Clinton, MS, Tommy Nasekos and wife, Marilyn of Charlotte and Larry Nasekos and wife, Lindy of Indian Land, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly Lewald, Allyson E. Mauzy, David Fortner, Rebecca F. Montague, Elizabeth Fortner, Daniel Nasekos, Jeremy Nasekos, and Shannon Nasekos; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
