MOUNT OLIVE – Beginning on Oct. 1, the town of Mount Olive will begin charging for bulk streetside pickup (household furnishings, TV/computer, or other electronics.)

The town of Mount Olive will not pick up building or construction materials, tires, dirt or rocks, cement or bricks, batteries or paint, or hazardous materials.

Mount Olive residents will be charged $25 for the pick up of small loads, $50 for medium loads and $100 for large loads. Any Mount Olive resident may take bulk items to the container site on Talton Avenue for no charge.

Mount Olive residents must call public works at (919) 658-9517 to request the pick-up and fee assessment. Pick-up will be done at the town’s discretion, and charges will be invoiced to be paid within 60 days.
