In planning for the future of Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS), Superintendent Marc Whichard, is seeking to build a stakeholder team to assist with WCPS Strategic Initiatives.
The team will be made up of a cross-section of district and community stakeholders. This group will have direct involvement in the development of the district’s five-year Strategic Plan and the district’s Mission, Vision, and Beliefs. Key team members will include parents, staff, and administrators. Community leaders, non-profit leaders, faith-based leaders, and interested community members will also have an opportunity to be represented on the team.
“This critical work will have lasting impacts and benefits for the school district,” states Dr. Whichard. “We welcome constructive input from stakeholders in the development of these important strategic initiatives and look forward to the work ahead.”
Individuals seeking to serve on the Strategic Initiatives team can go to the district website waynecountyschools.org, and click on “Strategic Initiatives” under the Highlights area to apply. Individuals will be selected as part of a lottery selection process. The deadline to apply is Monday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m..
