MOUNT OLIVE – University of Mount Olive men’s basketball coach Dory Hines has resigned from his position.
The story was first reported by hoopdirt.com.
Hines, a Kinston native and former guard at Mount Olive, was hired by Mount Olive in April of 2022, to replace long-time head coach Joey Higginbotham. Higginbotham transitioned into his new role as director of athletics.
Hines was a two-time all-conference selection during his time at Mount Olive. Hines is no longer listed as the head men’s basketball coach on Mount Olive’s athletic website. Assistant coach Zach Grant has been named interim head coach.
