Traffic Stop Involving Gang Members Leads to Drug Arrests

On Sept. 20, at approximately 3:34 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department’s Selective Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of N. Carolina Street for a motor vehicle violation.

During the course of the traffic stop, probable cause was developed to search the vehicle. Suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle.

The Selective Enforcement Unit received assistance from Patrol Shift “C” and the NC Department of Adult Corrections (Probation/Parole).

Reshawn Alston, 24, of Goldsboro, NC was charged with controlled substance violations. Dezhar Howell, 21, Damonte Broadhurst, 24, and Kevonne Wells, 25, were arrested for violating conditions of probation/parole.

All four subjects received enhanced bonds as they are validated gang members. The Goldsboro Police Department would like to thank the NC DAC for their assistance in this case.
