Mr. James Lee Kornegay, 65, transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, October 12, 2023. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 12:00 pm with a viewing from 11:00 am to 11:45 am at The Throne Room At Elm Grove Church Ministries, 118 Booker Street, Pikeville, NC. He will be laid to rest on Monday, October 23, 2023, at 12:00 pm at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC.

He was born on May 27, 1958, in Wayne County, NC to Earl Kornegay and Mary Evans Kornegay.
