October 16, 2023, 74, Goldsboro —
Ken Corbitt departed this life suddenly on Monday, October 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Greene County, North Carolina to the late Russell and Agnes Grant Corbitt on March 16, 1949.
Ken retired from Dupont after many years of service and proudly served in the North Carolina Army Reserves.
The outdoors seemed to call Ken by name. He savored being outside for nearly any reason but especially enjoyed being on the family farm.
Family was always Ken’s priority. He and Brenda shared nearly 54 years of marriage together. Ken’s children were his heartbeat, but his grandchildren were the apples of his eye.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Ken’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Barry Stallings and Gregory Peele presiding. Interment will be in the Pikeville Cemetery.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Agnes Corbitt. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Wells Corbitt; daughter, Amy Denton and husband, Wayne; son, Michael Corbitt; grandchildren, Steven Michael Edenfield, Logan Matthew Denton and wife, Savannah, and Kendel Diana Denton; great-grandson, Ryder Denton; brother, Charles Corbitt and wife, Kimberly; special aunt, Grace Parrott; and a special nephew, Frankie Piscopo and his wife, Tammy. He is also survived by his nephews, Russ Corbitt and wife, April and Paul Corbitt; and a niece, Cheyenne Corbitt.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
