October 19, 2023, 68, Mount Olive —

Pamela Holmes Swinson, age 68, resident of the Summerlin’s Crossroads community, Mount Olive, passed away early Thursday morning, October 19, 2023, at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.

A service in which to remember her life will be Monday, October 23, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, and will be officiated by the Rev. Ashley Summerlin.  Visitation will be after the service.

Pam graduated from North Duplin High School in 1974, and following that, she became employed at National Spinning Co. at its Warsaw plant where she was in maintenance.  She remained with the company until the Warsaw facility closed.  She and her husband, Doug, then relocated to the Fayetteville area where they remained for over 16 years, before recently returning to Summerlin’s Crossroads.

Pam is survived by her husband, Doug Swinson, of the home; a daughter, Bobbie Jo McCachren and husband, Ross, of Boone; two grandchildren, Marcus and Clara McCachren, of Boone; three brothers, Milton Ray “Buddy” Holmes (wife, Phyllis), Raeford Holmes (wife, Sharon), and Joey Holmes (wife, Crystal), all of the Mount Olive area; and several nieces and nephews.  Also surviving are members of Doug’s family, the “Ham” and Jo Ann Swinson family including his sisters, their husbands, and families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Drifty Holmes and Minnie Lee Arnette Holmes; sisters, Patricia H. Bowden, Wanda H. Davis, and Katherine H. Craft; and brothers, Randy Holmes, Hoyt Lee Holmes, Wayne Holmes, and Sherwood Holmes.
