Marietta Quinn Elmore died at Lenoir UNC Hospital on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was the daughter of Ressie and Eunice H Quinn of Pink Hill, NC born on October 16, 1933.

Marietta retired from Lenoir County Schools after 28 years. Everyone knew she was the happiest in the kitchen serving country food. She adored all animals and made sure they were fed if they showed up at her house.

Marietta was a member of Union Baptist Church since 1959. She was actively involved in the church until she was no longer able to attend.

A Service of Love and Remembrance will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 2:00 pm, in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service. The Committal will be held by the graveside at Westview Cemetery in Kinston on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.

Marietta is survived by her daughter, Kim Elmore Trezona and husband, Mark from Cary; son, David C Elmore and wife, Donna of Seven Springs; five grandchildren, Sarah, Caroline, and Sam of Cary, Lindsay E Turner and husband, Brice of Kenly, Meghan E Heath and husband, Cannon of Snow Hill, great-grandson, Laken Scott Turner, and great-granddaughter, Natalie Quinn Heath; brother, R.C. Quinn of Mesquite, TX; special granddaughter, Jessica S Curington; and a dear friend she spoke to daily, Sue White.

In addition to her parents, Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Elmore, and special friend, George Allen (Shank) Jones.
