Ashley Lewis Locklear, 42, of the Mount Olive area, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at home.
Ashley graduated with the class of 1999 from Southern Wayne High School. She furthered her education, earning an associate degree from Sampson Community College. Ashley was quite talented with woodworking and craft making. She enjoyed nature, the outdoors, and animals of many kinds.
Ashley’s life will be remembered on Sunday, November 12, at 3 p.m. in a service at Tyndall Funeral Home which will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Dail. Visitation will follow the service. Ashley leaves behind her precious daughters, Kaydynce Ellen “KK” Locklear and Willow Rae Locklear, both of the home; her parents, Freddie and Susan Grady Lewis of Mount Olive; her former husband and the father of her girls, Terry “Chief” Locklear of Faison; a sister and brother-in-law, Kelly Lewis Brock and Brandon Brock of Mount Olive; a nephew, Brayden Lewis Brock, and a niece, Mattie Grace Brock, both of Mount Olive; stepdaughters, Jasmine Lowry and husband, Ashley, of Pembroke, and Terrie Rose Lambert and husband, Troy, of Lumberton; aunts and uncles, Renee and Lane Sutton of Dudley, Linda and Spencer Langston of Mount Olive, Eddie Lewis of Dudley, Peggy L. and Mike Tyndall of Morehead City, and Bill Kelly of Mount Olive; cousins and spouses, Michael and Amy Langston, Jamie and Dana Langston, Ethan James Sutton, Abby and Kenny Minchew, Josh and Heather Lewis, and Lindsay Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mattie B. “Granny” and James Grady, and Betty and Harold Lewis; uncles, Toby Grady and Jerry Langston; and an aunt, Judy Langston.
