On Nov. 27 at approximately 3:38 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 900 block of Fairview Circle following a ShotSpotter alert and a dispatch for a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they contacted Jallexa Diaz, a 26-year-old female, suffering from a single gunshot wound to her leg. Ms. Diaz was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment. Diaz later left the hospital of her own accord.
The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. As a result of that investigation, a warrant was secured against the boyfriend of Diaz, Isaiah Damon McLamb, 26.
McLamb was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious Injury. McLamb was arrested at UNC Health Wayne while he was visiting the victim.
McLamb was transported to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office. He was served with his warrant and was placed on a Domestic Violence hold with no bond.
On Nov. 29, in relation to the incident, McLamb was charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one felony count of discharging a firearm into occupied property resulting in serious bodily injury, and one felony count of discharging a firearm into occupied property.
McLamb was served with his warrants by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office at the Wayne County Jail. He received a $30,000 secured bond. He also received a $30,000 secured bond for the initial charge resulting in a total bond of $60,000 secured.
