December 9, 2023, 81, Goldsboro —
Harvey William Howze III (Harve) passed away peacefully on December 9, 2023. Born April 1, 1942, in Greenville, Mississippi, Harvey was predeceased by his parents, Harvey William Howze, Jr. and Dolores Wynne Howze, and his wife, Susan Elizabeth Fluker. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Howze Fortner (James), his daughters, Emily Ford (Scott), Elizabeth Stackhouse (Curtis), and Rebecca Staines (Brian), and his grandchildren: Justin, Harrison, Mary Wynne, Will, Cameron, and Catherine.
Harvey grew up in Sledge, Mississippi, and remained a lifelong son of the Delta. He earned his degree in Agricultural Management from Auburn University and remained an avid Tigers football fan who loved his alma mater. Proud to serve his country, Harvey was commissioned as an officer in the Army 1964—1966. In addition to spending time with his girls, Harvey had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Harvey loved to laugh and made friends easily—he was involved in his community wherever he lived and was a member of Rotary International.
Although he moved quite frequently with his agricultural management jobs, he finally settled in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to be near his daughter and her family.
Family and friends will be gathering for graveside services in Marks, MS at 10:00 AM, on December 18th. Services will be directed by Seymour Funeral Home, Goldsboro, NC, and Pate-Jones, Senatobia, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Rotary International or a favorite charity. https://my.rotary.org/en/donate
