December 13, 2023, 89, Rosewood —

Joan Margaret Harrison, 89, of the Rosewood Community passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:15 until 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Harrison was born in Missouri on December 5, 1934, to the late Harry and Margaret Bouser.  

She was an active member of St. Mary Parish and Legion of Mary.  Mrs. Harrison was a registered nurse at Cherry Hospital and Wayne Memorial Hospital and will be missed by all.

Cherishing her memories are her three sons, Mike Harrison and wife, Sheila of Sanford, Mark Harrison and wife, Diane of Elizabethtown, and Steve Harrison of Goldsboro; two brothers, Frank Bouser and wife, Gervis and John Bouser and wife, Shirley; one sister, Harriet White; one grandchild, Josh; one great-grandson, Cameron; her close friend, Gayle Harrison; many cousins, nieces and nephews and all her animals, especially her many horses and dogs including her beloved dog, Ty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Harrison, and two sisters, Anne Butteri and Marjorie Davis. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Mary’s Parish or the ASPCA of Wayne County.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
