MOUNT OLIVE — Wayne Christian and Wayne Country Day advanced to the finals of the 11th annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Winter Classic on Thursday evening inside Kornegay Arena on the University of Mount Olive campus.
Wayne Country Day defeated James Kenan 72-41 in the first semifinal, while Wayne Christian knocked off Wayne Prep 72-68. The Eagles and Chargers will meet in the finals at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Also on Thursday, Eastern Wayne picked up a 61-55 win over Rosewood in the loser’s bracket. Southern Wayne slipped past North Duplin 60-58.
Rosewood faces North Duplin at 2 p.m. on Friday in the seventh-place game. Eastern Wayne and Southern Wayne meet at 3:30 p.m. in the fifth-place game, and James Kenan and Eastern Wayne take the court in the third-place game at 5:30 p.m.
