On Sept. 9 at approximately 3:39 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a Possible Shots Fired call in the 700 block of N. Claiborne Street.
Once on the scene, officers made contact with the victim who advised he had been robbed by two individuals. Shots were fired by the two subjects as they fled the scene after the robbery but there were no injuries reported. This case was forwarded to the Investigative Service Bureau for further investigation.
During the investigation, two subjects were identified as suspects in this matter. Xzavier Jaknowledge Mickens, 21, and a 17-year-old juvenile.
On Aug. 2, 2023, at approximately 3:35 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to an armed robbery in the 1100 block of Olivia Lane. Officers made contact with the victim who advised he had been robbed by two individuals. The two subjects took the victim’s property, then fled the area on foot. This case was forwarded to the Investigative Services Bureau for further investigation. During the investigation, two subjects were identified as suspects in this matter, Xzavier Jaknowledge Mickens and a juvenile.
On Aug. 3, charges were filed with Wayne County Juvenile Justice on the juvenile for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon (F), Possession of a Stolen Firearm (F), and Possession of a Handgun by a Minor (M). Warrants were secured on Mr. Mickens for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon (F), Possession of Firearm by Felon (F), Assault by Pointing a Gun (M), and Contributing to the Delinquency of Juvenile (M).
On Nov. 2, charges were filed with Wayne County Juvenile Justice on the juvenile for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and a warrant was secured on Mickens for one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. The juvenile was already in custody and was served at this time.
On Dec. 28, Mickens was arrested with the help of the Wilson Police Department in the 1900 block of Lipscomb Road, Wilson. Mickens was given a first appearance on Dec. 29, in Wayne County, and a secured bond of $375,000.
