Late Thursday morning, Mar-Mac firefighters and an EMS unit were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Stevens Mill Road just east of Black Jack Church Road with a subject possibly pinnedin.
When firefighters and EMS arrived on the scene they found an SUV had left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole in a field.
Firefighters had to use their extrication tools to free the female driver from the vehicle. The driver was taken for medical evaluation for what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
