Jarvis Reginald “Reggie” Carter

Surrounded by his family, Jarvis Reginald “Reggie” Carter passed away at home on Sunday, January 7, 2024, due to complications associated with Alzheimer’s Disease.

A graduate of Mount Olive High School, Reggie was an Air Force veteran and owner of Carter Welding and Tire Service. A welder by trade, he later expanded his skills to include collision repair and vehicle restoration. In his later years, he owned and operated Reggie’s BBQ with family and friends. A well-respected member of the community, he attended and was a member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marilyn Goodman Carter, his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer C. Lewis and Duane Lewis, and his grandson, Carter D. Lewis.

He is also survived by his siblings, Barbara C. Glover, Mike Carter (Wanda), and Mark Carter (Randy), and his sister-in-law, Janice Goodman Pate.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jarvis and Patty Belle F. Carter, and several other beloved members of the Carter and Goodman families.

A graveside service will take place at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive on Wednesday, January 10, at 3 p.m.

The family will receive friends and family after the service.
