Mrs. Maria Lucila Almaguer Quintanilla, 77, a resident of Faison, passed away Thursday night, January 4, 2024, while at ECU Medical Center in Greenville.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 6, at 3 pm at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. Paco deHoyos will preside. Visitation amongst family and friends will follow the service. Committal rites will be on Sunday, January 7, at 12:00 Noon in the Faison Town Cemetery in Faison.
Mrs. Quintanilla, born in Reynosa Tamaulipas, Mexico, came to make Faison NC her home with her husband some 42 years ago as he became employed with Southern Produce Distributing. Mrs. Quintanilla was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by ten children: Juan Martin Quintanilla of Mexico, Andres Omar Quintanilla of Faison, Julio Cesar Quintanilla of Mexico, Jose Eulalio Quintanilla of Faison, Jesus Hector Quintanilla of Texas, Jose Alfredo Quintanilla of Faison, Juan Carlos Quintanilla of Faison, Reyna Alicia Bolanos of South Haven, Mississippi, Noe Arnoldo Quintanilla of Faison, and Lucy Elisa Quintanilla of Faison; 26 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Almaguer Molina of Texas, and Beatrice Hernandez of Texas, and a brother, Eulalio Almaguer of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Quantinalla; her parents, Eulalio Almaguer and Felipe Pena Almaguer; and a sister, Maria Guadalupe Jimenez.
