Ronnel “Ronnie” Arthur Butts, 69, passed away at Johnston Health – Smithfield on Thursday, January 4, 2024. Born in Wayne County on February 2, 1954, he was the son of the late Willie A. Butts and Leena Butts. In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Hinson Butts; and brothers, Willie Ray Butts and Jimmy Butts.

Ronnie is survived by his nephews, Willie Butts and fiancée, Cathy Vaughn, and Travis Butts; and good friend, Tommy Westbrook.

Ronnie owned and operated Butts Mobile Home Movers for many years. Ronnie was an avid outdoorsman. He felt most comfortable while up on a deer stand or with his fishing pole in hand. Ronnie’s favorite vacation spot was the mountains.

A graveside service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 2 pm at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home prior to the service, from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
