New Charges Filed in Incident at Day Circle

New Charges Filed in Incident at Day Circle

On Wednesday at approximately 3:50 p.m., officers and investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Day Circle about multiple ShotSpotter alerts and numerous 911 calls about multiple male subjects shooting in the area.

When law enforcement arrived, they observed a group of males fleeing the area on foot. A short while later, with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Highway Patrol, four subjects were taken into custody.

Carlos Humberto Zapata, 19, Zimire Avery, 18, Travis Moore, 19, and Hykeem Weeks, 18, were charged with resist, delay, and obstruct. 

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau has identified three occupied apartments that were struck by gunfire in this incident. Victims of this incident include Crystal Green, Kateea McLean, Destiny Jones and two juveniles. Additional charges have been filed and served against the previously listed suspects. The charges include:

Possess Stolen Firearm – 1 Count

Carry Concealed Gun – 3 Counts

Going Armed to the Terror of the People – 1 Count

1st Degree Trespassing – 3 Counts

Injury to Real Property – 2 Counts

Resist, Delay & Obstruct – 1 Count

Total Bond: No bond (pre-trial integrity act)

Zimire Avery

Discharge Weapon into Occupied Property – 3 Counts

Going Armed to the Terror of the People – 1 Count

Resist, Delay & Obstruct – 1 Count

Total Bond: $161,500 secured

Travis Moore

Discharge Weapon into Occupied Property – 3 Counts

Going Armed to the Terror of the People – 1 Count

Total Bond: $161,500

Hykeem Weeks

Resist, Delay & Obstruct – 1 Count

Total Bond: No bond (pre-trial integrity act)
