GREENVILLE — Wayne County Public Schools Superintendent Marc Whichard, along with Board of Education members and Wayne Community College leaders, joined more than 300 education leaders from across the region on Friday at the NC East Alliance 2024 Vision Conference held on the campus of East Carolina University.
The day was centered around the “STEM East Industry In Schools Initiative, ” a 29-county partnership between schools, community colleges, and industries.
As part of its efforts to develop a homegrown workforce, the “STEM East Industry In Schools Initiative” is based on four pillars of work, which include: STEM Schools of Distinction (SSOD), Industry In Schools Clusters, Advanced Technological Education (ATE), and Regional Career and Job Fairs.
