Jo Ann Twyman Smith, 71, of the Rosewood community went to her heavenly home Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the gymnasium at Rosewood High School. The family will greet friends following the service.

Mrs. Smith was a native of Jacksonville, North Carolina born on May 9, 1952, to the late Joseph Gordon and Mildred Tallman Twyman.

She was a lifetime member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church and retired from Rosewood High School as an art teacher after 34 years of dedicated service.

She is survived by her loving husband, Steve Smith; two sons, Josh Smith of Goldsboro and Troy Smith and wife, Abby Barrow of Morehead City and her grandchildren, Connor, Cooper, Caden, and Ashton.
