On Monday, at approximately 2:25 a.m., officers from the Goldsboro Police Department responded to the 500 block of Stronach Avenue for a welfare check.

Theodis Herring, 57, was found unresponsive at the scene. Officers administered CPR while requesting Emergency Medical Services. EMS continued lifesaving measures upon arrival.

However, Herring was pronounced deceased at 2:58 a.m. Contact was made with the next of kin, and a death notification was made.

The investigation is ongoing. No foul play is suspected at this time. The case will be updated upon findings from the Medical Examiner.
