Elizabeth Moffett Tavenner, 93, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Eagle’s Pointe Assisted Living in Goldsboro.
Burial will be held at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, Virginia.
Mrs. Tavenner was born in Virginia on August 15, 1930, to the late William Henry and Mary Thompson Moffett.
She was a member of Order Eastern Star Virginia, Herndon Chapter #55 Oes, and retired from Wells Fargo where she served as Vice President of Northern Virginia Operations.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Poland (Yupin) of Goldsboro and Gary W. Poland (Phyllis) of Florida; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Ntouskas of Virginia and Patricia A. Wiseman of Virginia; three sisters, Virginia Bernoff of North Carolina, Mary Ellen Judd of Virginia and Beverly Landymore of Maryland; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Shirley Thomas Poland and Richard Tavenner; one daughter, Karen Lee Poland; three brothers, William E. Moffett, Bernard J. Moffett and Arthur E. Moffett and one sister, Elma Mankin.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
