Kelly Ann Allen Smith, 54, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, February 10, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Anchorage, Alaska to Hilda Moore Allen of Goldsboro and the late Harold Eugene Allen on May 12, 1969. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debra Jean Allen.
Faith led Kelly’s life as she spent her career shaping young lives. She served as a teacher assistant with Wayne County Public Schools for 10 years. All those years were spent teaching at Spring Creek Elementary School. She loved her students and teaching was her calling.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Teresa Best presiding. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
In addition to her mother, Kelly is survived by her husband of 35 years, Grover Allen Smith, Jr.; son, Jordan Allen Smith and wife, Sam; and sister, Donna R. Allen.
