At approximately 10:41 p.m. on Thursday, officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of N. William Street.

Upon arrival, officers could not locate any victims but received an ensuing call from UNC Health Wayne regarding a shooting victim who had arrived by personal vehicle at the Emergency Department.

Officers arrived at the Emergency Department and contacted the victim, Devante Harris, 31, who reported being shot in the 1000 block of N. William Street.

Harris was subsequently transferred to ECU Health for further treatment and is in stable condition. Preliminary investigation suggests the incident involved a subject known to Harris.

The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information will be released at this time.
